INDIA'S LION LEAP
INDIA'S LION LEAP
India
is the world's seventh largest country, second most populated country and most
rapidly developing country in the world. By 2017 India became the sixth largest
by nominal GDP and third largest purchasing power in the world.
Despite
such growth in seventy years since independence India was not able to
manufacture many things in their own country. They are depended on other
countries for such things in exchange of which Government of India had to pay
huge sums. For example India depends majorly on Russia for defense and military
equipment, despite being one of the largest electrical products market in the
world India depends upon China for electrical goods.
Government
of India realizing despite having huge demand in their own country it had very
less production units. Therefore under the leadership of Hon'ble prime minister
Shri Narendra Modi, the government launched the Make in India initiative on
25th September,2015 to encourage national, as well as multi national companies
to manufacture their products in India.
India
has 65% of it's population under 35 and 50% of it's population under
25,therefore the Make in India initiative would give good opportunities to the
youth as well as would play a vital role in the development of the country.

The
launching of the event was a enormous success. After the initiation of the
program in 2015 India became the top global destination for foreign direct
investment ousting the United States of America and People Republic of China
and received US 63$ billion in foreign direct investment (FDI). India using
this initiative wants to develop 25 sectors including
automobile, aviation, chemical, defense and military equipment manufacturing, electrical
manufacturing, information technology, food processing textiles etc.
Though
it seems a bright and a successful path but its quite a hard task too.India
ranks 100th out of 190 countries in world bank's index ease of doing
business. Therefore it is a major obstacle for the government to improve the
conditions to promote business.India also has not been able to provide
roads, security, electricity before therefore it is certainly going to be a major
obstacle in their initiative. But the initiative has certainly grabbed
attention of multi billionaire competencies like Lenovo, Motorola, Huwai,
Foxconn who are already thinking of using this opportunities for cheap manufacture
in India.
Make
in India initiative has not only focuses on foreign companies to invest in
India, but also want the youth of India to use this opportunity to use their
knowledge and research to do something, big and great. This initiative also wants to promote research and development which will certainly help
India in achieving great heights.Mr Amol Yadhav is a striking example of youth
inspired by make in India initiative. Yadav had created quite a stir during the
Make in India week held in Mumbai in February this year with his six-seater
passenger plane TAC-003, which he built along with his family and friends on
the terrace of his flat in Charkop, Mumbai. Government of Maharashtra (state of
India) has also supported his plans and they assume that if he is successful it
would revolutionize air travel in India.
If
many youth like him use this opportunity then soon India will be a self
sufficient country which would provide goods to the world in future. If this
initiative is successful the no one would be able to stop India from becoming a
super power in the world.
